Manchester Pride is appealing for volunteers to help out behind the scenes at their 18th birthday – the biggest party of the summer - 22-25th August 2008 (Fri-Mon).
They're looking for people from all backgrounds to help them showcase Manchester to festival goers arriving in the city from across the UK and Europe.
Volunteers will have the chance to learn new skills, meet lots of great people and contribute to one of Manchester's biggest annual events.
Opportunities available include:
* Parade Steward
Required from: Saturday 23rd August - 11-4pm
* Street Collector - Parade
Required from: Saturday 23rd August - 11-4pm
* Big Weekend Crew
Required from: Friday 22nd August - Monday 25th August - shift times will be allocated.
* Promotions Assistant
Required from: From Mid April - times negotiable.
* Recycling Warden
Required from: Friday 22nd August - Monday 25th August - shift times will be allocated
All volunteers will need:
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to work under supervision.
* Ability to work outdoors.
* Be Reliable, Hardworking, Enthusiastic, Friendly and Trustworthy.
All Volunteers will receive a Pride t-shirt. However, due to the fact that the Manchester Pride organisation is a charity they are unable to pay volunteer expenses.
The organisation have an over 18s policy for health and safety and licensing reasons.
